Cotopaxi is one of the biggest and most beautiful active volcanoes in the world with an elevation of 5897 meters, is the second highest summit of Ecuador. It is located in the eastern part of the Andes, 50 km. south of Quito and 33 km. northeast of Latacunga.

It is part of the protected area of the Cotopaxi National Park, located on the border of the provinces of Pichincha and Cotopaxi. In its surroundings, there are trails and areas to fully enjoy the Ecuadorian highlands.
